Oldham Safeguarding Children Partnership E-Learning Offer
Level 1 Safeguarding Children
Initial single agency child safeguarding training is the responsibility of the employing agency. Oldham safeguarding children partnerships training offer will complement and enhance existing staff knowledge and skills. Before staff complete any partnership training, they must access the free Level 1 e-learning module provided. The module is designed to help staff recognise and respond to possible signs of abuse or neglect. It is important for anyone working with or who may come into contact with children.
The module takes around 60 minutes to complete and must be completed in one sitting, once completed a downloadable certificate is provided. Single agencies are responsible for collecting their own data regarding staff completion.
Learning outcomes - The module will:
• Introduce you to Oldham’s local priorities.
• Help you understand the different ways in which children and young people can be harmed.
• Help you to recognise possible indicators of child abuse.
• Inform you of how to respond to concerns.

Charging policy
Please ensure you are aware of our attendance and cancellation policy. We appreciate that at times agencies may need to cancel places reserved on training courses. However, this can be costly in terms of wasted resources so the OSCP expects applicants to observe the following procedure:
All cancellations/withdrawals from training course should be made in writing at least 5 working days in advance of the course to OSCPtraining@oldham.gov.uk and cc catherine.lawler@oldham.gov.uk.
When advanced notice (5 working days) is not possible the applicants line manager must notify of the reasons for non-attendance in writing. Telephone cancellations will not be accepted.
